Acantho is made from grapes carefully selected from our oldest vineyards, which are around 50 years old. The blend of this wine is unique: powerful and structured Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in small tonneau barrels, is accompanied by the elegant and fruity native grapes ciliegiolo and canaiolo, aged in large barrels. It is a powerful wine with great balance and refinement that can be drunk immediately or aged for years and years. Best opened an hour or so before drinking to breathe.
We delayed the release of the 2016 vintage for a few months until April 2020 to make it perfect. Being able to control production is one of the real advantages of being a small, independent winemaker.

This is a wine for roast meats and feasts of Peking duck, roast goose or suckling pig. Drink it with beef wellington for a combo that will make you go weak at the knees. Or pair it with Sichuan dishes loaded with pepper or chilli to accentuate the tannins and spices in the wine.
