Located in the heart of Montefalco (aka ‘the balcony of Umbria’), the 6-hectare vineyard comprises of some of the best vineyards in the region that used to belong to a leading winemaking family of Montefalco.
Established in 2018, Le Thadee is a young wine estate with a wealth of experience in its dynamic team. Focusing on local native grapes, such as Sagrantino, Grechetto and Trebbiano Spoletino, as well as other international grapes, they produce 7 types of wine that are already being noticed in the wine world after being awarded a number of Italian accolades.
Le Thadee’s winemaking team comprises Alessia Natali, partner of the winery along with her father Gianfranco, oenologist Elisa Martelli, who is besotted with all things wine, “I am crazy in love with my job and afflicted by great oenological curiosity. I am in charge of our company’s wine creations, using recipes made of love, respect for Umbrian traditions and innovation”. Also adding their input are Marta Soccolini, the agronomist, and cellarman/oenologist Massimo Giacchi. Massimo takes care of all the production aspects: from the attention to the plants in the vineyard to the pampering that the finished wine deserves. In his words, “I try to put a pinch of my professionalism and a lot of passion inside each bottle of Le Thadee”.
Le Thadee’s production is based on a profound respect for nature starting right from tending the vines (according to rigorous organic viticulture principles), extending to the vinification and refinement in the cellar, through to the packaging. Their approach to winemaking, along with state-of-the-art technologies, ensures quality, longevity and equally importantly, a naturalness to the wines that really enhances their individual characteristics.
